Tulare County 3-Vehicle Collision Ends Fatally, on Avenue 256

March 2, 2018- An infant was killed in a three-car collision, east of Tulare.  The multiple vehicle accident took place on Avenue 256, at about 6:30 PM.

A Chevy Avalanche truck, driven by Amanda Goldsberry, failed to stop at the posted sign, at the intersection of Avenue 256 and Road 124/Oakmore Road.

A Honda Odyssey, driven by Claudia De Torres and carrying four passengers, was headed west on Avenue 256/Oakdale Avenue when the pickup ran the stop sign.

The minivan swerved to avoid hitting the truck and was hit by a Nissan Maxima, driven by Patricia Mendoza.  The Chevrolet then slammed into the Honda, and a 5-month-old girl was ejected from the van.

The baby died at the scene.

De Torres suffered moderate to major injuries; including a broken leg.  She was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.
