Police Chase Ends in Fatality in Accident on Plano Street, in Porterville

Visalia Accident Attorney John Rozier has the following report; On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, a car chase ended in fatality, in Porterville.  The Tulare County automobile crash happened on Plano Street, at about 3:25 PM.

The CHP and local law enforcement were in pursuit of a vehicle that they attempted to stop.  The vehicle was driven by a female, with two male passengers, fled the authorities from John J. Cairns High School and gave chase through the Lindsay and Porterville communities.


The auto headed south on Plano Street, with police pursuing.  At the intersection of Olive Avenue, the car struck another vehicle, went airborne and smashed into a traffic light pole.

The female driver and one of the passengers were thrown from the car.  The driver died at the scene, and the passenger shortly after in the hospital.

The other suspect attempted to flee on foot but was captured and arrested.  He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The driver of the other car sustained moderate injuries.  He or she was also taken to a local hospital for treatment.
