Fresno County Big Rig Collision Kills Five People, at Highway 33 and Manning Avenue

September 5, 2017- A fatal semi truck collision killed five people, west of San Joaquin, on Tuesday.  The Fresno County SUV accident took place on Manning Avenue, at around 9:00 AM.

The CHP reported that a Mercedes SUV, carrying five occupants, was driving east on Manning Avenue.  At the same time, a big rig was northbound on Highway 33.

At the intersection of State Route 33 and Manning, the Sport Utility Vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and was hit by the tractor-trailer.

Upon collision, the Mercedes then caught fire.

All five people in the vehicle died at the scene.

The driver of the semi suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
