Kern County Drunk Driving Collision Ends in Fatality for Pedestrian, on Highway 184

June 3, 2017- A pedestrian was killed in a drunk driving accident in Weedpatch.  The Kern County automobile collision happened on Highway 184, south of Lamont, at about 9:30 PM.

The CHP reported that Jesus R. Moreno, 55, of Arvin, was driving while intoxicated on SR 184/Main Street.  The car drifted off the road near Buena Vista Boulevard and struck a telephone pole and a pedestrian; David Rosales Rico, 39.

The suspect then drove off.  He was found in his car a mile from the crash.

Rico was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moreno was arrested for DUI.
