Kings County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; On Sunday, December 25, 2016, a hit-and-run collision took place in Avenal. The drunk driving SUV crash happened on San Joaquin Street, west of Kettleman City.
A woman was driving a Toyota Camry, with two children passengers and one other occupant, in the area of Seventh Avenue and San Joaquin Street.
At that time a black Chevy Suburban, driven by Jonathan Jair Montes, 24, was speeding down the roadway. At the intersection of Seventh and San Joaquin, the SUV failed to stop at the stop sign.
The Chevrolet smashed into the automobile. The Sport Utility Vehicle then drove off until it broke down. Then Montes attempted to run away on foot until he collapsed a block away.
The victims in the Toyota suffered injuries, some major. The two juveniles; ages 7 and 12, were airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
Montes was injured as well and taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia. He was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run.
