4-Vehicle Collision in Visalia, on Highway 198, near Chinowth Street

January 20, 2017- A multi-vehicle crash happened in Visalia, on Friday.  The Tulare County 4-car accident occurred on Highway 198, at around 5:00 AM.  

Oscar Ochoa was driving a 2007 Pontiac, headed east on State Route 198.  Ochoa’s vehicle lost control and hit the median, near Chinowth Street.


The Pontiac then swerved into the westbound lane, into oncoming traffic.  Christina Cantu, 40, hit the right side of the Pontiac.

Following that, two other vehicles; driven by Sandra Montes Cortez, and Peter Acosta, of Woodlake, crashed.

Ochoa and Cantu suffered injuries and were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

Cortez and Acosta were not hurt in the incident.

Heavy rainfall was said to have contributed to the collision.
