Three Teens Hurt in SUV Crash on Dennison Road, in Tehachapi

On Thursday, December 15, 2016, Three teenagers were hit in a pedestrian accident in Tehachapi, during the afternoon hours.  The Kern County SUV crash took place on South Dennison Road, in front of Tehachapi High School.

Students, ages 14-16, were walking on the west sidewalk of S. Dennison Road.  A Sport Utility Vehicle drove across a small grassy area, onto the walkway and struck the teens.


The SUV then continued on across the southbound lanes of Dennison Rd., crossed over the median, and came to a stop in the northbound lane.

The police reported that the female adult driver tried to stop in a nearby parking area, and accidently pushed the accelerator instead of the brakes.

Two of the victims suffered moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to San Joaquin Community Hospital.

The 15-year-old victim suffered severe injuries and is in critical condition.  The victim was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital.
