On Thursday, November 3, 2016, a multi-vehicle collision occurred south of Corcoran. The Kings County big rig accident happened on Highway 43, at approximately 10:23 AM.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the 2-car crash took place at the intersection of Highway 43 and Poplar Avenue/Ave 144. The incident involved a semi truck and a white automobile.
Upon collision, the tractor-trailer rolled over.
A passenger in the sedan was trapped until rescue crews freed the victim.
At least one person suffered severe injuries. They were taken by helicopter to a local hospital for treatment.
