Visalia Collision Attorney John Rozier has the subsequent update; On Monday, October 17, 2016, two people, including a child, was badly hurt in a pedestrian accident.  The Tulare County van crash happened on Mooney Boulevard and Sunnyside Avenue, in Visalia.

Michaela Matthews, 23, and her 2-year-old daughter were walking across Mooney Boulevard, at the Sunnyside Avenue intersection.  They were crossing in the crosswalk when a silver Toyota minivan driving south crashed into them.

Matthews and her toddler both suffered serious injuries.  They were transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.  And the child was later taken to Valley Children’s Hospital, in the Fresno area.  Both are reported to be in critical condition.

Danny Rivera, 74, the driver of the minivan, claimed that the bright sun and a pillar in his vehicle prevented him from seeing the pedestrians.

Witnesses said the driver never applied the brakes until after the baby struck the windshield.
