On Saturday, October 1, 2016, a car crash killed one person and severely injured another, in Hanford. The Kings County vehicle accident took place on Highway 198, at approximately 1:57 AM.
Brandon Moon, 27, of Hanford, was driving a Mercedes-Benz east on State Route 198. Just east of 14th Avenue, the Mercedes came up behind a 1999 Honda automobile and rear-ended it.
The Honda spun out of control until it stopped in the middle of the eastbound lanes.
The Mercedes veered off the freeway and overturned. Moon was not wearing a seat belt, according to reports, and was thrown from his car.
Moon died at the scene of the incident.
The Honda’s driver sustained major injuries. He or she was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
