Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Vehicle Crash Kills Man in Wheelchair, on California Avenue

On Friday, October 7, 2016, a man in a wheelchair was killed in a hit-and-run accident, in Bakersfield.  The Kern County vehicle collision took place at California Avenue and Baker Street, at around 6:30 AM.

The police reported that the wheelchair-bound man in his 70s was crossing the street, headed north in the crosswalk, at the intersection of E. California Avenue and Baker Street.

As the man crossed, a light colored pickup or SUV that was driving west struck the victim.  The vehicle then fled the scene without stopping.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Even though the driver may never be identified, the family of the deceased may have a valid uninsured motorist claim under their own insurance policy. Please give me a call, Attorney John Rozier.  Reach me at 559-713-0159, or online.  We are located in Visalia, on Caldwell Avenue.
