On Sunday, September 4, 2016, a fatal vehicle collision took place in central Bakersfield. The Kern County pedestrian accident occurred on 18th and Cedar streets. The female victim has now been identified.
61-year-old Pamela Mingus was walking across the road in a marked crosswalk, at the intersection of Cedar and 18th streets.
At that time a car was traveling west on 18th and hit the woman.
Mingus sustained severe injuries. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
