Victim Died in Pedestrian Accident on Walnut Avenue and Ben Maddox Way, in Visalia

Tulare County Wrongful Death Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; The victim in a pedestrian accident that took place on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, has now passed away in the hospital.  The vehicle collision occurred in Visalia, on Walnut Avenue, at about 9:00 PM.

41-year-old Joey Ruiz was pushing a disabled car out of the way of traffic near the Walnut Avenue and Ben Maddox Way intersection.

As Ruiz was dealing with the broken down vehicle, a Ford F-150, driven by Elizabeth Smith, was eastbound on Walnut.  The pickup truck hit Ruiz, and then a second automobile; a Honda Accord, driven by a female teenager, also struck the victim.

Ruiz sustained major head trauma and internal injuries.  He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical, and then transferred to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.  He died from his injuries on Thursday, September 1, 2016.

Visalia police have reported that the investigation is still ongoing.
