September 2, 2016- An automobile accident left one with serious injuries, in Oakhurst on Friday. The Madera County vehicle crash took place on Highway 41, at around 10:30 PM.
Herbert John Curry, 88, of North Fork, was driving a classic 1940 Ford Coupe on State Route 41. The car was traveling downhill, about a mile south of Erna’s Elderberry House, when Curry lost control and went off the highway.
The Ford veered down a steep embankment, then struck a telephone pole, and overturned. Curry was thrown from the auto, through the passenger side window.
The victim suffered major injuries, and was taken by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
