Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Saturday, September 10, 2016, a multi-vehicle crash ended in fatality for one victim, in Bakersfield. The Kern County drunk driving accident occurred on Panama Road, at around 9:00 PM.
A 1996 Isuzu pickup, driven by Israel Ramirez, was driving west on Panama Road, east of Cottonwood Road. The truck was driving behind a Ford Mustang, when Ramirez attempted to pass the automobile.
The Isuzu hit the back of a 2008 Mercedes, driven by Lourdes Bautista, that was traveling east on Panama Rd. The impact caused the Mercedes to spin out and crash into the driver’s side of the Mustang.
The Ford then veered out of control and off the roadway on the north side.
The pickup truck then continued down the street and sideswiped an eastbound Toyota Camry that was driving behind the Mercedes. The Camry came to rest on the south side of the road.
After hitting the Toyota, the Isuzu overturned multiple times and collided with a Mitsubishi Mirage.
The driver of the Ford Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ramirez suffered severe injuries. He was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment. He was arrested for driving while under the influence.
The rest of the victims in the incident sustained minor to moderate injuries.
