On Wednesday, September 14, 2016, a car chase led to multiple collisions in Fresno. The vehicle accidents took place on Blackstone, Clinton, and McKinley avenues, at around 10:30 AM.
Stephen Yates, 36, led sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit down Blackstone Avenue. The authorities attempted to pull the suspect over after he was driving erratically in a gold colored Lexus.
Yates fled the scene, driving his automobile southbound on Blackstone Avenue. The car drove through a red light at the intersection of Clinton Avenue. The Lexus struck one vehicle, but kept driving.
At the intersection of McKinley Avenue, the car ran another red light and crashed into a beige-gold pickup truck. The impact of the collision caused the truck to overturn, then pushed it into another car.
Yates tried to flee on foot, but was caught. He was arrested at the scene.
Injuries were reported, but the extent of which is unknown at this time.
