On Thursday, September 8, 2016, an automobile crash killed one, near Tulare. The traffic accident occurred on Road 124, at around 5:00 PM.
A man, reported to be in his 60s, was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier headed northbound on Road 124. Just north of Road 200, the Chevy car drifted onto the east shoulder of the roadway.
The driver’s vehicle smashed into a utility pole and metal guardrail, then overturned into a dry canal. The car came to rest on its roof, and pinned the victim inside.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No information is known at this time on why the collision occurred.
Issues still remaining to be investigated; determining whether road conditions may have contributed to this accident, and any malfunctions of the vehicle.
