Victims Named in Fatal Kern County Crash, on Highway 46, near Wasco

August 10, 2016- A big rig crash ended in fatality for two people in Kern County, on Wednesday.  The victims have been identified in the traffic collision that happened on Highway 46, west of Wasco.

The incident occurred between 5:00-6:00 AM, on State Route 46, near the Wildwood Road intersection.


A tractor-trailer hauling produce was driving east on the highway.  At the same time a Toyota minivan, with eight occupants inside, was westbound on SR 46.

The van drifted into oncoming traffic and slammed head-on into the semi truck.

The driver and one of the passengers died at the scene.  They have now been identified as; Juan Aguilar, 39, and Tobias Aguilar, 32.

At least four other victims in the minivan sustained injuries.  Two of them suffered major injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

The semi truck driver was not hurt.
