Attorney John Rozier, Car Accident and Wrongful Death Lawyer, has the following report; On Tuesday, August 2, 2016, a charter bus accident ended in the death of four people. The victims have been identified, in the vehicle crash that happened in Merced County, on Highway 99.
The incident occurred when an Autobuses Coordinandos bus was headed northbound on the Highway 99 freeway. The bus, for reasons unknown, lost control, ran off the roadway, and smashed into the Hammatt Avenue Signage pole, between Atwater and Livingston.
The pole sheared through the middle of the bus until it hit the back axle.
Multiple occupants were ejected.
Four victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene, have been identified. They are; Jose Morales Bravo, 68, of Avalon, Jaime De Los Santos, 38, of Tijuana, Fernando Ramirez, 57, and Petra Carillo Ruiz, both from Mexico.
Many other victims were injured. Six people suffered serious injuries and were taken by helicopter to hospitals in Modesto and Turlock. The bus driver; Mario David Vasquez, of Los Angeles, was one of the occupants who sustained severe injuries.
The rest of the travelers sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were also taken to area hospitals for treatment.
