Victims have been identified in a vehicle collision on Monday, August 8, 2016, in Fresno County. The rollover SUV crash occurred on I-5, near Shields Avenue, at around 9:20 AM.
18-year-old Javier Martinez, of Los Angeles, was driving a 2003 Ford Expedition south on Interstate 5. Just south of Los Banos, the Sport Utility Vehicle blew a tire, and Martinez lost control.
The Ford, which was carrying five passengers, veered across the southbound lanes. The SUV then overturned and ended up on the shoulder of the highway.
Maria Del Carmen Castaneda, 47, and Bernice Ramos, 15, were ejected from the Expedition. They died at the scene of the collision.
The other passengers suffered major injuries. They have been identified as; Rosa Villegas, 31, Rocio Ibanez, 20, and Enrique Ibanez, 18. All victims were airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno. They were all residents of LA.
