On Monday, July 4, 2016, a stolen vehicle accident took place in Hanford. The Kings County SUV collision happened at Grangeville Boulevard and Seventh Avenue, at about 3:41 PM.
A 17 year old suspect, along with three female passengers; 13, 14, and 17, stole a silver Sport Utility Vehicle at the 2600 block of North 11th Avenue. The teenagers fled east in the vehicle on Fargo Avenue.
The SUV then headed south on Highway 43, where the police attempted to stop the driver. The 17 year old turned onto Grangeville Boulevard, reaching speeds of 100 mph.
From Grangeville Blvd. the car then tried to turn south onto Seventh Avenue. The vehicle lost control and crashed into a residence at the corner of Grangeville and Seventh Ave.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the Kings County Juvenile Center. The passengers in the stolen automobile were also arrested.
Major damage was caused to the home that the Sport Utility Vehicle smashed into.
No reports on whether anyone was injured in the incident.
