On Wednesday, July 27, 2016, a woman and baby were hurt in a vehicle accident, near Hanford. The Kings County automobile crash happened at around 6:15 AM, on 14th Avenue.
A 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by a 25-year-old Lemoore woman, was headed southbound on 14th Avenue, south of Excelsior Avenue.
The female driver drifted off the roadway, onto the west shoulder. The driver overcorrected and swerved across both lanes and crashed into a tree, on the east shoulder.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.
A 5-month-old baby girl was also in the car. She was reportedly not in a car seat at the time of the collision.
The infant suffered severe injuries. She was airlifted to Valley Children’s Hospital, in Madera for treatment.
The incident is now under investigation.
