On Sunday, July 10, 2016, a rollover car collision ended in fatality in Fresno County. The SUV accident occurred east of Selma, on Nebraska and Mendocino avenues, at about 8 PM.
The CHP reported that a red SUV was headed east on Nebraska Avenue, driving at speeds of 50-60 mph. The Sport Utility Vehicle ran a stop sign at the intersection of Mendocino Avenue.
The SUV smashed into an automobile that had been southbound on Mendocino. Both vehicles overturned multiple times and came to rest in a nearby orchard.
Sandra Naranjo, of Sanger, a passenger in the car, died at the scene.
Two other people involved in the incident had injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
The SUV’s driver was arrestd for driving while under the influence of controlled substances and vehicular manslaughter.
