Fatal Head-on Crash Between Pickup and Big Rig, in Fresno County, on Jefferson Avenue

San Joaquin Valley Vehicle Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the subsequent update; On Monday, July 11, 2016, a Fresno man was killed in a truck collision, near Mendota.  The Fresno County head-on big rig crash happened on Jefferson Avenue, at around 1:37 PM.

Herman Toews, 74, was driving a 2010 GMC pickup truck eastbound on West Jefferson Avenue, southeast of Mendota.  Just west of Santa Fe Road the pickup drifted across the yellow line, right into the path of a semi truck.

The Peterbilt tractor-trailer, driven by a 71-year-old Los Banos man, tried to swerve out of the way.  The big rig was unable to avoid crashing head-on into the GMC.

Toews was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver suffered severe injuries.  He was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno, for treatment.

The scene of the accident should be independently inspected as soon as possible. Please call Mr. Rozier today, so we can investigate. 559-713-0159, or contact online at our website.
