Attorney John Rozier, Car Accident and Wrongful Death Lawyer, has the following report; On Thursday, June 16, 2016, a fatal vehicle crash took place in Kings County. The SUV collision happened south of Kingsburg, at Barstow and Sixth avenues, at about 1:30 PM.
Victor Zavala, 28, of Kingsburg, and his 34 year old female passenger, were driving a stolen 2008 Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette was traveling at a high rate of speed, headed east on Barstow Avenue.
At the intersection of Sixth Avenue, the automobile ran the stop sign, and smashed into a 2012 GMC Terrain SUV. The Terrain, driven by a 21 year old Rancho Cordova woman, was headed southbound on Sixth Ave. at the time of the collision.
James Edward Moreno, 21, who was a passenger in the Sport Utility Vehicle, suffered fatal injuries. He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia, where he soon died from his wounds.
The GMC’s driver and her 14 month old son suffered severe injuries. They were transported to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno for treatment.
A 21 year old female passenger in the SUV also sustained major injuries and was taken to the Visalia hospital. Her 1 month old baby daughter was not hurt in the incident.
The passenger in the Corvette suffered serious injuries and was also transported to CRMC in Fresno.
Zavala sustained minor injuries and taken to Adventist Medical Center. He was arrested for felony DUI, vehicle theft, and gross vehicular manslaughter.
