Kings County Big Rig Collision Kills One on Excelsior Avenue, near Hanford

On Thursday, May 26, 2016, a woman was killed in a vehicle collision with a semi truck, in Kings County.  The big rig accident occurred northwest of Hanford, at approximately 6:37 PM.

Serena Christiansen, 21, of Visalia, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet south on 13 1/4 Avenue.  The Chevy stopped at the intersection of Excelsior Avenue, before it pulled out right into the path of a 1995 Freightliner.

The tractor-trailer, driven by a 48 year old Hanford man, was traveling westbound on Excelsior Ave., at the time of the collision.  The semi was unable to stop in time before crashing into the side of the car.

Christiansen was pronounced dead at the scene.

No reports on whether anyone else was hurt.
