On Thursday, March 10, 2016, a hit-and-run collision left one woman with major injuries, in Tulare County. The car accident took place north of Lindsay, at around 4:00 PM.
The CHP reported that the incident occurred in the area of Avenue 250 and Road 216, between Lindsay and Exeter.
The suspect was driving a 2001 Buick LaSabre on Road 216, headed north at a high rate of speed.
The Buick attempted to pass other vehicles and moved into the oncoming lane of traffic. The automobile smashed head-on into a 32 year old Lindsay woman, who was driving a 2000 Volkswagen.
The VW had been southbound on Road 216, at the time of the crash.
The victim was airlifted to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia, after suffering severe injuries.
The suspect fled on foot after the collision. He has yet to be apprehended.
Even though the driver may never be identified, the victim may have a valid uninsured motorist claim under their own insurance policy.
