On Saturday, February 27, 2016, a multiple vehicle accident took place in Visalia. The Tulare County SUV collision ended in three victims, including a pedestrian, injured, at about 12:32 AM.
A 2002 Ford Explorer, driven by Luis Rocha-Lopez, 21, was headed eastbound on Sweet Avenue, with passenger Miguel Alcaraz. At the Conyer Street intersection the Sport Utility Vehicle failed to stop at the posted sign.
The Ford collided with a 1996 Acura automobile that had been traveling on Conyer St.
The impact of the crash sent the Explorer into a parked 2013 Toyota Camry. It then rolled over and struck a teenager that had been walking down the street.
The parked Toyota then was pushed into a local residence on West Sweet Avenue. The home sustained moderate damages.
Rocha-Lopez and Alcaraz suffered injuries and were transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
The pedestrian also sustained injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Lopez was arrested for drunk driving.
