On Tuesday, January 12, 2016, a rollover truck crash occurred in Kern County. The Bakersfield vehicle accident took place on Highway 178, at about 6:40 AM.
Don Templeton was driving a white Ford Ranger westbound on State Route 178, near Beale Avenue. The pickup drifted to the right, and Templeton overcorrected.
The Ranger hit an embankment at the side of the freeway, and rolled over coming to rest partially on the shoulder.
The driver was ejected from his vehicle and trapped under the Ford for about 20 minutes until emergency crews could free him.
Templeton suffered severe injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield.
