January 28, 2016- A hit-and-run pickup truck collision killed one person and injured others, on Thursday, near Hanford.  The Kings County head-on vehicle crash took place on Highway 43 and Idaho Avenue, at around 5:50 PM.

A 49 year old Fresno man, was driving a black 2010 GMC Terrain SUV.  The Sport Utility Vehicle was traveling northbound on State Route 43, when it was struck by a white pickup at the intersection of Idaho Avenue.

The pickup truck had run a stop sign that was posted on Idaho Ave. while headed westbound on the roadway.

The force of the collision caused the GMC to be pushed into the southbound lane of the highway.  The Terrain and a green 1996 Toyota Avalan sedan collided head-on.

The white truck left the scene of the accident, and the driver has yet to be apprehended.

A 69 year old woman, from Fresno, was a passenger in the Toyota.  She suffered fatal injuries, and was pronounced dead at Adventist Medical Center.

The 70 year old driver of the Avalon sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Kaiser Permanente in Fresno.  A 72 year old Fresno man, who was another passenger in the automobile, was also taken to Adventist Medical Center, for treatment.
