Drunk Driver Causes Head-on Vehicle Accident, in Tulare County, on Highway 99

On Thursday, January 14, 2016, an intoxicated driver caused a car crash on southbound Highway 99.  The Tulare County automobile collision happened in Goshen, at approximately 3:20 AM.

Alfredo Santiago, of Fresno, was driving a 2001 Toyota vehicle, headed the wrong-way on southbound State Route 99.  Santiago smashed head-on into another vehicle, driven by Eric Mendibles, of Clovis, near Betty Drive.

Mendibles had been traveling on the southbound freeway at the time of the collision.

Santiago sustained serious injuries.  He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.  He was arrested for DUI, while in the hospital.

Mendibles suffered severe injuries as well.  He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.
