December 25, 2015- A semi tanker truck accident took place in Tulare County, on Friday. The drunk driving collision happened on Highway 99, north of Earlimart, at about 2:30 AM.
Juan Guerrero, 23, of Earlimart, was reported to have been driving while under the influence, headed southbound on Highway 99. His car collided with the back of a big rig carrying diesel fuel in two tankers, north of Avenue 56, near Ducor.
Upon collision the tanker burst into flames, but did not explode. The automobile then swerved onto the shoulder and came to a stop.
Guerrero suffered moderate injuries, which included a broken left femur, and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.
The driver of the tractor-trailer; Michael Strauss, 35, of Madera, complained of back pain, but otherwise was unharmed.
Guerrero was arrested for DUI.
