Dust Storm Causes 18-car Pileup, on Highway 99, near Bakersfield

November 2, 2015- An 18-vehicle pileup stops traffic on southbound Highway 99, on Monday, at about 12:25 PM.  The multiple car collision took place south of Bakersfield, in Kern County.

The incident took place on the Highway 99 freeway, between Bear Mountain Boulevard, and Houghton Road, when windy weather caused a dust storm.  The dust led to zero visibility for drivers.

At least 18 vehicles were involved in the crash, and fifteen people were reported injured.
