October 9, 2015- A hit-and-run car accident ended in fatality, in Kern County, on Friday.  The automobile collision happened near Weedpatch, on Highway 184, at around 7:30 PM.

The incident happened on State Route 184, and Sunset Boulevard, where a vehicle was broadsided by a 40 year old Hispanic man.  The male driver ran a stop sign at the intersection, and smashed into an automobile driven by a 40 year old Hispanic woman, with a 17 year old passenger also inside.

The female driver of the other car died at the scene.  The teenager suffered severe injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield.

The man, who is reported to be from Arvin, took off after the crash. He is still at large. 

While our condolences go out to the friends and family of the victim, we recognize that no monetary sum can ease the pain and loss felt after a tragedy such as this.
