Big Rig Crash Kills Motorcycle Rider on Highway 198 and Jameson Ave., west of Lemoore

On Monday, October 5, 2015, a motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in an accident with a semi truck.  The tractor-trailer collision occurred on Highway 198, near NAS Lemoore, at about 1:20 PM.

A 2000 Yamaha bike, driven by Jessie Lee Gallagher, 20 years old, was eastbound on the Hwy 198 freeway, west of Lemoore.  As the motorcycle was traveling east, a Peterbilt rig started merging onto the highway from Jameson Avenue.

The biker struck the rear of the big rig, and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Gallagher died at the scene of the crash.

It has been reported that Jessie Gallagher was a naval officer, stationed at the Lemoore Naval Air Station.  He is originally from Idaho.
