On Monday, October 5, 2015, a big rig collision ended in fatality for a naval officer, on Highway 198, near Lemoore.  The Kings County motorcycle crash happened near the Naval Air Station, at approximately 1:20 PM.

A 20 year old man, Jessie Lee Gallagher, of Idaho, was traveling on his motorcycle on the Hwy 198 freeway, west of Lemoore. The bike was headed eastbound, when a Peterbuilt semi truck merged onto the highway, from Jameson Avenue.

The biker, for an unexplained reason, smashed into the back of the tractor-trailer as it entered the highway.  He was ejected from the motorcycle.

Gallagher died at the scene of the collision.

The truck driver was not injured.
