On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, a semi truck crash ended in a double fatality, in Tulare County.  The multi-car collision happened near Visalia, on southbound Highway 99, at approximately 5:50 AM.

A big rig was reported to have been driving on the Highway 99 freeway, headed south, when traffic slowed down in front of it.  The driver did not brake in time, and crashed into a white, Toyota Sienna minivan, just north of Betty Drive.

The tractor-trailer then plowed into a Chevy Tahoe truck, driven by a Parlier woman, and then a delivery truck, before finally coming to a stop.  The Chevrolet and the semi caught on fire.  Also, upon impact, the Sienna overturned.

The Chevy’s driver died at the scene of the accident.  An 18 year old Fresno man, who was a passenger in the minivan, also suffered fatal injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others in the Toyota suffered moderate injuries.  They were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The tractor-trailer’s driver, and the box truck driver did not get hurt.
