On July 4th, 2015, a Lamont man was fatally injured in an automobile collision that occurred in Bakersfield. The victim has been identified, in the Kern County head-on vehicle accident.
Jorge Hernandez, 28 years old, was driving without his seat belt on, traveling east on East Panama Lane. Hernandez veered into the opposite lane of traffic, near Ino Madera Street, and hit another car head-on.
Jean Goyenetche, 70 years old, was the other vehicle on Panama Lane that Hernandez crashed into. It is reported that Goyenetche attempted to swerve once he saw Hernandez’s vehicle, but was unable to do it in time.
The Lamont man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Goyenetche sustained major injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Kern Medical Center, for treatment. A passenger in his car; Gustavo Camacho, 52 years old, suffered minor injuries.
