Four Car Pileup Accident on Highway 99 near Kingsburg

Visalia Elderly Maltreatment Attorney John Rozier has the following report; On Thursday, July 17, 2014 a multiple vehicle collision was caused by a driver fleeing authorities, in Fresno County.  The SUV accident occurred on Highway 99, near Kingsburg, at about 9:30 PM.

A female driver in a 2005 Ford was reported to have been fleeing Fresno County sheriff, at a high rate of speed on southbound Highway 99, near American Avenue.

The Ford struck a concrete barrier and then swerved into the northbound lanes of the freeway, where it hit an SUV driven by a female who was traveling with her two young children.  Two other vehicles smashed into the Sport Utility Vehicle immediately after the initial crash.

The engine on the Ford then caught fire, and the sheriff’s deputies had to break a window to get the driver out of the car.  She had to be restrained and taken to the hospital.

The SUV’s driver suffered a broken leg and other injuries.  She was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

No other injuries have been reported.
