Tanker Truck and School Bus Collision in Fresno County

May 12, 2014- A fuel truck and school bus accident injures 25 people, in Fresno County.  The vehicle collision occurred Monday at about 2 PM, south of Fresno.

A big rig carrying 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel, was westbound on Central Avenue.  The semi truck came to a stop at the intersection of Central and Elm avenues.  It then pulled out into the intersection, right in front of a Orange Center Elementary School District bus.  The bus was northbound on Elm Ave., with about 35-40 students in it, and did not have a stop sign.

There were 25 people hurt in the crash, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.  Of those twenty five victims, fifteen were taken to several local hospitals; Community Regional Medical Center, Saint Agnes Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Medical, Children’s Hospital Central California, and Clovis Community Medical.
