February 6, 2012- A man’s leg had to be amputated after a truck hit him and pinned him to a wall, in Wasco. The crash happened on Monday.
Ruben Ocampo was walking into a business on F Street, to get his taxes done. A female driver lost control of the pickup truck, ran up onto the curb, and struck him, pushing him into the building.
The sheriff’s department said the accident occurred, because of possible brake malfunction. Speed, alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the collision.
Ocampo suffered major injuries to both legs, and was medi-flighted to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield. One of his legs was amputated, and he is expected to undergo more surgeries.
