November 17, 2010--Yesterday's crash on Highway 65 at Avenue 208 in Lindsay claimed the life of Nicanor Marroquin, age 39 of Porterville. He was driving a Dodge Neon. The other vehicle was a Ford Ranger driven by Joseph Edwards, age 31 of Visalia. A full investigation will determine each vehicle speed to help in determining fault. The three employees from a packinghouse in Lindsay who were treated at local hospitals for carbon monoxide poisoning were released late Thursday night or early Friday morning. They were operating a forklift inside an enclosed cold storage unit for approximately 45-60 minutes when they were overcome with exhaustion. Two of them were life flighted to hospitals in Fresno and the third was treated at Sierra View District Hospital. / --------

On Thursday, November 19 two employees at a packinghouse in Lindsay were flown to a Fresno hospital after being exposed to large amounts of carbon monoxide. Both were listed in critical condition. A third employee was also taken to the hospital. Apparently, 2 of the employees were operating a forklift in an enclosed cold-storage area for approximately 45-60 minutes when they were overcome with exhaustion. The third employee was well enough to dial 911 and flag down the fire fighters when they arrived. All three employees were treated at the hospital. Further details on their conditions is unavailable.
