Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Niles Street, in Bakersfield

On Friday, March 31, 2017, a vehicle accident killed a pedestrian, in Bakersfield.  The Kern County hit-and-run crash occurred on Niles Street, at about 10:30 PM.

The CHP reported that the collision happened when a 60-year-old man was crossing Niles St., near Virginia Street.  A vehicle traveling east on the roadway struck the walker and then fled the scene.

pedestrian-accident-4.jpgThe victim suffered severe injuries.  He was transported to Kern Medical Center where he died.

The police are still searching for the suspect.

Even though the driver may never be identified, the family of the deceased may have a valid uninsured motorist claim under their own insurance policy.
