Kern County SUV Accident Kills One on Scaroni and Fresno Avenues, near Shafter

Kern County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; The victim in the Tuesday, October 4, 2016, SUV accident has been identified.  The vehicle collision ended in fatality, west of Shafter, on Scaroni Avenue, at about 6:25 AM.

A 1998 Ford Expedition, driven by 30-year-old Jose Ruiz, of Shafter, was headed north on Scaroni Avenue.


At that time David William Seal, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was driving a 2003 Buick LaSabre on Fresno Avenue.  The car failed to stop at the stop sign, at the intersection of Fresno and Scaroni avenues.

The Sport Utility Vehicle and the sedan collided.  The Ford then crashed into a power pole, and the Buick ran into a vineyard, then caught fire.

Seal was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were six people, including children, in the SUV.  Two of the occupants suffered serious injuries.  While the others sustained minor to moderate injuries.  All were taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
