September 18, 2016- The victim in a DUI collision on Sunday, in Stratford, has been identified. The Kings County automobile crash occurred on State Route 41, at approximately 5 PM.
A 2000 Honda, driven by Victor Nava, the suspected drunk driver, was traveling north on Highway 41. Near Main Street, Nava drifted into the opposite lane of traffic, and collided head-on with a utility truck.
The US Forest Service Ford truck, driven by Vernon Smith, of Sonora, was southbound on State Route 41 at the time of the collision.
Eustaquio Quirino, 22, of Santa Maria, was a front passenger in the Honda. He died at the scene.
Nava, and the two back passengers in the car, sustained major injuries. They were transported to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
Once Nava is released from the hospital, he will be arrested for driving will under the influence.
Smith was not injured in the incident.
