On Wednesday, August 31, 2016, a bicycle accident ended fatally in south Bakersfield. The Kern County car collision occurred on Ming Avenue and Hughes Lane, at around 7:46 PM.
Authorities reported that Ralph Rosander was riding his bike in the area of Ming Ave., and Hughes Lane. The bicyclist was struck by a black Acura RSX, driven by Juan Saucedo Jr.
After hitting the victim, the Acura fled the scene. Officers found the suspect a short time later. He was arrested for felony hit-and-run and being an unlicensed driver.
Rosander suffered fatal injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Kern Medical Center, where he later died.
