On Monday, July 25, 2016, a car accident which led to a grass fire, took place in Bakersfield. The Kern County vehicle collision happened on Highway 204, near Airport Drive.
The California Highway Patrol reported that an automobile driving northbound on the State Route 204 freeway near the off-ramp, lost control and went off the roadway. The crash then led to the car catching fire, which started a small grass fire, just off the highway.
No reports on whether anyone was injured. Authorities reported that the accident could be blamed on an intoxicated driver.
