April 22, 2016- A big rig accident injured two children and one adult, near Corcoran, on Friday. The Kings County tractor-trailer collision happened on Highway 43, at about 9:25 PM.
A 2007 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 35 year old woman, with a 10 year old girl and 5 year old boy in the car, was headed west on Whitley Avenue. The female driver stopped at the intersection of Whitley and State Route 43, but then drove right into the path of a semi truck.
The 2013 Mack truck was travelling southbound on Highway 43. The driver attempted to avoid the Toyota, but did not veer out of the way in time and crashed into the automobile.
The little boy suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
The girl suffered moderate injuries, while the woman sustained minor injuries. They were taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
The big rig’s driver was not harmed.
