February 27, 2016- A chain-reaction traffic accident occurred in Visalia, early Saturday. The Tulare County multi-vehicle collision took place at approximately 12:32 AM, on Sweet Avenue.
Luis Rocha-Lopez, 21, of Visalia, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer, traveling east on West Sweet Avenue. At the intersection of Conyer Street, the Ford ran a posted stop sign, and was hit by a 1996 Acura car.
The SUV crashed into a parked 2013 Toyota Camry sedan, and then overturned and hit a teenaged pedestrian walking in the area.
The Toyota was then pushed into a house on Sweet Avenue. The house was moderately damaged.
Lopez was thrown from the Explorer. He and his passenger; Miguel Alcaraz, sustained injuries. They were taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
The pedestrian was also hurt and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Rocha-Lopez was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence.
