Head-on Car Collision Kills One, on Panama Lane, in Bakersfield

July 5, 2015- A Lamont man was killed in a head-on collision over the weekend, in Kern County.  The Bakersfield automobile accident took place on Panama Lane.

The CHP have reported that the 26 year old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was headed eastbound on East Panama Lane.  For an unknown reason, the Lamont man’s car crossed into oncoming traffic, near Ino Madera Street.

Jean Goyenetche, 70, was driving a vehicle on Panama, when the other car veered into his lane.  He tried to swerve out of the way, but didn’t in time, and the two vehicles crashed head-on.

The 26 year old died at the scene of the collision.

Goyenetche suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield.  His passenger, Gustavo Camacho, 52, sustained minor injuries.
